Our Lost & Found is getting full! Please help us find them a home before they are removed!

Gans Parents,
We are experiencing flooding on roads in our area that our buses will travel on this afternoon to deliver our students. Depending on the rain amounts throughout the day there may be issues getting students home. We will run bus routes at normal times, but if our drivers cannot deliver students safely they will return them to the school and they will need to be picked up. The weather prediction is that rain will continue throughout the day causing water levels to rise and fall. If you feel that your road may become impassable please make arrangements to pick up your child. We do not want anyone driving through flood waters,
so if you need to pick up your children early we understand. Our main concern always is the safety of our students. Thank you.

Gans Public School will remain virtual on Thursday, February 20th. Extremely cold temperatures are expected for tonight and tomorrow morning. Some of our rural roads are still ice covered and will refreeze with these temperatures. Thank you for your understanding.

Due to winter weather conditions Gans Public School will continue to be virtual on Wednesday, February 19th. Thank you.

Due to the threat of sleet and snow moving through our area, tomorrow, Gans Public School will transition to virtual learning for Tuesday, February 18th. Stay safe and stay tuned for further information. Thank you.

Due to the increasing percentage of student and staff absences because of illness, Gans Public School will transition to Virtual instruction for Tuesday, January 28th and Wednesday, January 29th. We will resume In School instruction on Thursday, January 30th. I sincerely hope that this time away from the school setting will decrease the spread of sickness and give everyone a chance to recuperate. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Due to a large percentage of our student and teacher population being absent because of illness, Gans Public School will have a virtual day of instruction Friday, January 24, 2025. We will use this day to allow staff to clean and sanitize our buildings and classrooms to keep illnesses from spreading. We will return to in person learning on Monday, January 27, 2025. Thank you for your understanding. Regina Brannon

Parents and Staff, although the main roads are clear, many of the backroads that our buses must travel to pick up our students are still snow covered and ice packed. The temperature tonight will cause the snow and slush to refreeze and will not be safe for our buses to travel on in the morning. Out of caution, Gans Public School will remain virtual on Monday, January 13th. Jr. High basketball will be rescheduled and Mini Cheer Clinic will now begin on Tuesday, the 14th. I sincerely hope to see everyone back, safe and sound, on Tuesday morning. Thank you.

Parents and Staff, Due to the high possibility of snow on Thursday and freezing temperatures that could affect road conditions, Gans Public School will be transitioning to virtual learning on Thursday and Friday, the 9th and 10th of January. Please stay safe and enjoy your long weekend.

Due to the threat of severe weather, Gans Public School will be dismissing school and buses will run at 3:00 pm today. We are attempting to get students home safe before the impending storm hits. No student will be left at a bus stop without a parent present to pick them up. Parents are encouraged to pick up their after-school care students as soon as possible. Gans School does have a storm shelter and we will go there if necessary. After-school football practice is cancelled today as well. Thank you, Regina Brannon

Gans Public School wants to inform our parents and community that we have been made aware of a nationwide threat that has appeared on social media.
Although there is no evidence that this is a credible threat linked to any specific group, we treat any potential threat with caution. The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department and our Resource Officer are aware of this information and are on alert and taking precautionary measures.
Again, there is no apparent danger at Gans Public School today, but out of an abundance of caution, we wanted our parents to have this information. We will keep you informed if we receive any updated information.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding,
Regina Brannon, Superintendent

We are experiencing an internet outage. OneNet and AT&T are working on the problem now, but Gans School will likely not have internet or phone service for the rest of the school day. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully we will have everything back up and running by morning.
Thank you,
Regina Brannon

Tonight, the Lady Grizzly fastpitch softball team plays at home versus Cameron-Arkoma at 4:30 pm! There is also a high school football scrimmage at the football field at 6 pm.
Come out, bring your family, and let's support our Gans Grizzlies!
